One of the great things about San Jacinto College is that it is located just outside the fourth largest city in the country. Houston is a melting pot for diversity, and with that comes amazing cultural opportunities, festivals, parades, and more. The communities we serve at San Jacinto College are no different. We believe in bettering our communities, and enriching the lives of those that live and work in them. That's why we are so involved with events and organizations throughout our district.
Every year, you'll find San Jacinto College employees and students at events such as the Strawberry Festival and Parade in Pasadena, participating in the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo, lighting the way at the Deer Park Holiday Light Parade, honoring our country's independence at the annual South Belt July 4th parade, and supporting the McDonald's Invitational.
The College is proud to support our communities. As members of the local chambers and rotary organizations, we attend monthly meetings, and serve on leadership boards. We are also actively involved with, and interested in, the growth of the local economy, which is why we work closely with the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership (BAHEP), Economic Alliance Houston Port Region, and the Greater Houston Partnership. A strong local economy means more jobs in our communities, and helps to enrich the lives of those who live and work here.
San Jacinto College values the partnerships we have with our local school districts. Together, we are helping to send more students to college, get the training they need to enter the workforce, and helping them become the tomorrow's leaders.
You will find San Jacinto College students, faculty, staff, and alumni all around the community, doing things both big and small to make a difference in the lives of those around them. Check out our alumni club and help for small businesses.
