San Jacinto College is celebrating 60 Years of Service in our community
As we look back on the past six decades, we invite you to partner with us as we Step Brightly into the Future.
At San Jac, we use the word “partner” often but not casually. We know some students, even with perseverance and determination, still need help. They need to know they will not have to sacrifice their dream of an education and a better future because of finances.
That’s where the Promise @ San Jac program comes in: After federal and state aid, grants, and scholarships have covered much of a high school graduate’s financial need, donors’ gifts cover the remaining financial need – down to the last dollar.

The San Jacinto College Foundation partners with generous donors to meet these financial needs. Thanks to a generous gift from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott and her husband Dan Jewett, we have launched two important initiatives. First, we provided a debt-free education to more than 2,400 May 2021 high school graduates through the 21 Forward Program. An additional $3 million will go to May 2022 high school graduates when we expand the Promise program districtwide. Second, the Foundation will use $20 million of the Scott-Jewett gift to create a Student Success Fund Endowment for the Promise program.
But we aren’t finished.
Proceeds from the 60th Anniversary Gala will be added to this endowment to provide Promise scholarships so May 2023 graduates and beyond can reach their educational goals. As Greg Louganis said, “Never underestimate your ability to make someone else’s life better – even if you never know it.”

One of the most exciting features of the 60th Anniversary Gala will be the opportunities to play for prizes while supporting our mission. The event will feature a Mystery Punch Wall, RTIC Tumbler Pull and silent auction. We are looking for individuals or businesses to donate gift cards, items, tickets, or "experiences" to be included as part of the evening.
