The Office of Teaching and Learning includes the College curriculum department. Dr. Ann Pearson is the Director of Curriculum and Instructional Alignment.
Curriculum development is a year-round process at San Jacinto College with the majority of work completed in the fall semester. Faculty originate proposals in the Curriculum Inventory Management (CIM) system to add or revise programs or courses. Proposals move through a specific online workflow of College personnel who need to review and accept the proposal, including but not limited to the discipline’s Department Chair and instructional Dean on the faculty originator’s campus.
Once all documentation and preliminary acceptance is in place, the faculty originator presents the proposal to the College-wide curriculum committee for review and approval. The curriculum committee consists of faculty, Department Chairs, Deans, and Student Services personnel who review and approve curriculum changes.
