A City That Offers the World
When you come to San Jacinto College, you’re coming to one of the most exciting and vibrant urban centers in the United States. Houston is the fourth largest city in the U.S. and is home to more than 3.5 million people.
Although our city is a bustling metropolis, our inhabitants are well known for their friendliness and hospitality. That’s just how people are in Houston, including those of us who have come here from other parts of the world. Visitors from far off lands feel at home here, because this is truly an international city, with year round cultural festivals, every conceivable form of cuisine, world-renowned museums, symphony, ballet, opera, and theatre, and high-level professional and college sports.
Houston is also a world center for technology, business, industry and entrepreneurial success. We are home to NASA, the control center for U.S. space exploration. Our Texas Medical Center is the largest complex in the world for medical care, education and research. We are also the energy capital of the world, with the largest concentration of oil & gas companies and facilities.
Positivity, pride, and progress are pervasive in Houston. We turn big ideas and hopeful dreams into realities. That’s why people come here from all over the world in search of a better education, a better job, a better place to raise a family, a better climate – a better life.
We welcome all with open arms. This includes you.
