Is dance your passion? Have you thought about a career in dance as a performer, teacher, choreographer or even a critic? The dance program at San Jacinto College provides the educational pathway you need to achieve your dreams!
Whether you have been performing for years or just want to learn how to dance, we provide the opportunities you crave. We offer classes in ballet, modern, jazz, performance, improvisation, and choreography for students of all levels. You can even earn your Associate of Fine Arts Degree with an emphasis in dance.
Whether you are earning your degree, looking to transfer to a university dance program, or just enjoy dancing, our program is for you!
The San Jacinto College dance program is:
- Professional, providing students with a well-rounded education in dance technique, choreography, performance, and production from qualified dance masters who are active professionals in the dance field
- Welcoming, offering spacious studios and a state of the art theater to support a vibrant environment that encourages collaboration among faculty, students, and guest artists who share a passion for dance
- Versatile, allowing students the opportunity to grow in multiple styles of dance and areas of the dance profession by offering multiple class levels, a variety of dance classes, and a number of performance and choreographic opportunities each year
- Successful, giving students the experience they need to easily transition to higher educational institutions or directly into a career in dance
