- Background Check/Drug Screening

The State of Texas and our EMS program require that you provide a current (within 1 year) criminal background check and drug screen. Our program utilizes a third party vendor to obtain these records. You can order your background and drug screen at www.castlebranch.com using the package code SQ29. This package also includes review of all of your immunizations records (please see requirements below) and physical form. The package costs $94.00. Students must submit results from this background inspection. Please purchase the package prior to the start of the semester. All requirements must be complete prior to class start date.

CAAHEP Accredited Paramedic Programs and CoAEMSP Letter of Review (LoR) Programs track and report outcome measures annually to the Committee on Accreditation for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
The most current CoAEMSP Annual Report was for the calendar year 2020.
The most recent success rate for the National Registry of EMT Paramedic/State Cognitive exam was 66.7%.
The most recent positive placement rate for graduates was 81%.
(Positive placement is defined by the CoAEMSP as ‘Employed full or part-time in a related field and/or continuing his/her education and/or serving in the military’. Positive placement is measured at completion of the program.)
The most recent retention rate was 75%.
