In the Respiratory Care Program, you will learn how to care for a variety of patients with respiratory problems, including newborns in respiratory distress, children with asthma or pneumonia, adult victims of trauma, and older patients with emphysema or cardiac failure.

To prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs).

The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). CoARC accredits respiratory therapy education programs in the United States. To achieve this end, it utilizes an ‘outcomes based’ process. Programmatic outcomes are performance indicators that reflect the extent to which the educational goals of the program are achieved and by which program effectiveness is documented.

Application Information and related documents (Please read all prior to applying)

The application period for Spring 2023 is now open and will run until 5 PM on November 4th, 2022. You will not receive a confirmation email after you submit the online application. Applicants will be notified by email regarding acceptance or rejection on November 11th at 5 pm for the Spring 2023 start. Students will not hear from any faculty members of the Respiratory Care Program regarding acceptance or rejection until the date described above.

Information Sessions

All Respiratory Care Information Sessions are held via Zoom. Students are required to pre- register for the session prior to joining the meeting. After registering for the session, an email will be sent with the meeting details (link and passcode). All information sessions are recorded and tracked for attendance purposes. Pre-registration for the session will not substitute for attendance. All students who apply to the Respiratory Program MUST attend one of the sessions prior to applying. Applicants who have not attended the mandatory information session will not be considered for acceptance.
