The Music and Audio Engineering Department is currently home to three student organizations:
 

Audio Engineering Organization (AEO)

Audio Engineering Organization at San Jacinto College CentralThe Audio Engineering Organization is dedicated to providing audio engineering majors hands-on experience outside of the classroom.  Students in the AEO provide live sound reinforcement and recording services to concerts, recitals and other live events– both on and off campus.

Orpheus

Orpheus Composer's SocietyOrpheus is dedicated to the promotions and performance of contemporary chamber music composed by students of SJCC. Under the direction of Professor Joseph Schenck, students present several concerts a year, both on and off of campus, and attend concerts throughout the Houston area at the major universities and performance companies as a group.

San Jacinto College Central Steel Band

San Jacinto College Central Steel BandThe San Jacinto College Central Steel Band performs on traditional Trinidadian steel drums and is open to all SJC students.  To join, register for MUEN 1131.102 (Small Instrumental Ensemble) with Michael Mizma.  The steel drum band performs for events on and off campus several times a semester and frequently commissions new works by guest composers.
